Why ingredients matters

In the journey to a glowing skin, we are tempted to try inexpensive skin care.  What is the difference between mass-produced, inexpensive products and professional?  It’s all in the ingredients and clinical formula. The amount of active and key ingredients versus filler ingredients can make a huge difference in the quality of the skin care and the results.

Learn what to look for in your skin care:

Filler ingredients

While we may think that inexpensive skin care is a big value, it may actually just be watered down formulas stuffed with filler ingredients. And some of these fillers have the potential to irritate and damage the skin, like parabens, artificial fragrances and dyes.

When we choose quantity over quality, we sacrifice the strength, efficacy of our products, we get discourage when we do not see the results from our daily skin care routine.   Next time, opt for professional strength products instead. We only need a small amount- usually less than a dime size for serum when there’s a higher concentration of active ingredients, so the products will last longer and save us money in the long run.

How to read a skin care label

Always check the ingredient labels on the skin care product before purchasing. The order in which the ingredients are listed on the skin care labels matters. Skin care companies must list the ingredients in order of volume or weight, the largest first and the smallest last, which means the higher up on the list of the ingredient on the skin care label, the more of it there is in that specific product.

Forget the fluff and filler ingredients – learn why every single ingredient in your skin care matters.

Every single ingredient in a formula serves a purpose and directly benefits the skin. It’s all about delivering high levels of effective, potent ingredients, and utilizing the best that science and nature can deliver.

Skin care with a purpose

Here at 818 Skincare Studio, as a Skincare Therapist, I like to choose skincare products designed to solve a skin concern and maintain healthy skin function. A formula is comprised of several different active and key ingredients from nature and science – and must all work together to achieve the goal.
